Give a Gift to Yourself this Holiday Season

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we sometimes put ourselves on the bottom of every list, if even at all. There is gifts to buy, food to prepare, traveling to do and parties to attend. But, we can do it all as long we make ourselves a priority.

This holiday season, Holistic Umbrella is here to guide you through with health and happiness. Here are our tips for finding the time to care for yourself, even amidst the holiday madness.

1. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a break

Sure, there are a lot of people counting on us during this time. But, you know what? When you have done all you can (or want) to do in a day, there is no harm in putting on cozy pjs and cuddling up on the couch to watch your favorite holiday movie. In fact, consider it the doctor’s orders. 

2. Make an effort to treat yourself

Whether your treat is that pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing or a day at the spa, put yourself on your shopping list! Let’s make sure we don’t burn the candle at both ends. After all, when we are feeling physically content and cared for, we will do a better job in every aspect of the word. There’s a method to the madness. So, do yourself a favor and buy the shoes. 

 3. Take the time to reflect

Last but not least, take the time to look back at all you have accomplished this year. Reflect upon the things you want to strive to improve upon next year and applaud yourself for the many wonderful things you have done well already. We recommend making a list of the goals that you have in the New Year. Don’t know where to start? Grab your journal and ask yourself these questions: What did you learn? Have you grown from each lesson? What do you want this year? Is there anything you want to change?
